I WISHED I COULD...

I wished I could be a Roman knight,
With valour of a lion and might,
To prance into Sambisa forest,
Which cast anguish in my heart,
Of a child who dreamt to be artist,
Of a peaceful world he desired to paint,
Where massacre is impotent to hunt.

I wished I could forget that boy's mama
Whose stomach was tattered by bullets
And her crying baby was a barbeque
Grilled by inferno of bundle' woods
Hurled onto them by boko-haram terrorists

I wished I could be thorny-death,
To sting them in their necks,
Make them bleed like broken tap,
Till their lungs succumb to quietus,
And be swept by unforgiven history.
