Mindless Almajiri I call the place eerie jungle But, he calls it a homey home That he sat so comfy and quiet To allow me fully gaze deeper Not to his aridly weepy smudged eyes But to his heart which is a scrap of misery. Despite the holy COVID-19 virus He was unmasked as he sits Beside him see did I his company A candle thawing into nothingness And exactly as such he sees life Nothing for he has nothing to love. "Aren't you scared of COVID-19?" He smirked and his regrettably He threw his hand behind him An empty bowl appeared hungrily He thrast it to my curious eyes "What has Almajiri got to worry about?" With dismay I peered to his his words I see expression of being disowned I see pain of being taunted by the South I see dreams dying as he breathe I see the reasons to turn him a terrorist I see why my country is falling apart. When no mercy exist When no vision guides When the powerful grows greedy When pride reigns over humil...

LET'S DEFEAT COVID-19 COVID-19 our unprecedented enemy Creeping through our bodies' pores Ambushing our respiratory organs Shackling our ankles to a boring home Sitting so quiet with mournful smiles Gripping our hearts in fear; baffled By hundreds of death; gone forever. The smarm patients who fret in fright Whose lives hang between its fangs Whom their snatched breath cowed us As if some smoky elves hunting us More of a vampire hungrily draining  Both our economy and spirituality Deserting  masjids and churches. Let's defeat COVID-19 Quarantining is not despair Beware we are Africans The warriors of our misery A vanquished foe you shall be And safer than China we shall be To beat our chest that we've won. PLEASE, OPEN YOUR ARMS

Please, open your arms Which between them I see A wide heaven’s gate That quenches a rover’s thirst to trail   Please, open your arms Which know not of my forlorness  But being the witnesses to my crave  Buried in my long journey to your heart  Please, open your arms For me to bow vor before your grace  That I shall not give thee all golds   But I shall make thee a glittering gold Please, open your arms And make them be two perches I shall not only roost as wanderers do But shall live forever in your comfort. Please, open your arms Which will not only caress my pain But its warmth shall bed-pet me To sleep, making me melt in your love Please, open your arms And your face will be my mirror Which like a devotion i'll stare at And see words that you couldn't utter Please, open your arms Which in them I shall feel no fear Of missing or losing you not to death Which shall be so scared to come close Please, open your ar...

MY REMINISCENCE

I thought I was so sagacious Not to be entrapped by love But now I have to accept naivety Having got lost in your charms Like an accursed spell is on me And your charisma spices it up So much that your sight weakens The courage to approach you And yet, it set my heart ablaze Burning the ambers of your love. Oh lord! When shall I be bold  To face my sweetheart Or is it condemned i'm eternally To blow her secret dozen kisses That will never touch her lips And by that, she will never know  Of my lunacy or of my phobia Oh no! Today I shall break the ice  I shall break the silence with loudness "I love you" shall know no barriers again. So help me God!

WHY MUST I JUSTIFY Tell me what is more painful Than the sour taste of truth In cellophane of good intentions Of actions that causes no damage That must be justified nonetheless Than the purest water on earth Which no human fears to taste This reminds me of humans, Whose inquisitiveness scares Angels who fear to cross paths For the guts of devouring grudges That could make God's mercies Desert this earth, seeking like refugees The protection against humans' plots. Now, more than ever I see Why God has to justify as well Of all his might that humans doubt The heaven and rocks they can't make Nor of death that Hitler couldn't escape And neither shall we give life as well Then, God says; "do as you wish!" As such, wisely I thought Who am I to cajole human heart Not by preaching as prophets did To promise paradise or hell fire Or by war that spill innocent blood For like atheists humans presume When has ever God existed to judge? ...
