Mindless Almajiri
I call the place eerie jungle
But, he calls it a homey home
That he sat so comfy and quiet
To allow me fully gaze deeper
Not to his aridly weepy smudged eyes
But to his heart which is a scrap of misery.
Despite the holy COVID-19 virus
He was unmasked as he sits
Beside him see did I his company
A candle thawing into nothingness
And exactly as such he sees life
Nothing for he has nothing to love.
"Aren't you scared of COVID-19?"
He smirked and his regrettably
He threw his hand behind him
An empty bowl appeared hungrily
He thrast it to my curious eyes
"What has Almajiri got to worry about?"
With dismay I peered to his his words
I see expression of being disowned
I see pain of being taunted by the South
I see dreams dying as he breathe
I see the reasons to turn him a terrorist
I see why my country is falling apart.
When no mercy exist
When no vision guides
When the powerful grows greedy
When pride reigns over humility
When ours is the only ours we see
We shall only vie for ours not ours.
