REPLY TO BASHIR AHMAD, NEW MEDIA AIDE TO THE PRESIDENT ON SENATOR RABI'U MUSA KWANKWASO'S LETTER ON THE SORROWFUL STATE OF KANO STATE.
Dear Bashir Ahmad,
I am shockingly staggered, with due respect sir, by your pretence of ignorance, as a young Nigerian, that letters personally sent to leaders hardly and sadly reach them or/and are oftentimes discarded with no trace of even acknowledgement.
This fact has forced many concerned Nigerians of reputable publications and even the common growing youth to either be silent or send an open letters, at least, by doing so, it will serve as a way of clearing their conscience and to be a proof to their fellow people whom often hold them at fault for not writing such letters to authorities in order to let them know of their condition since aides like you and many others seemed oblivious or preoccupied….
Undeniably sir, no government succeeds without accepting constructive criticism, but for most of the write-ups scribbled to your government are with mercy that they serve as pieces of advice, instead of biting criticisms which I see no reason why governments at both federal and state level will be infuriated by the frankness they expressed and thereafter trashed.
Therefore, Let's be blunt, Kwankwaso is right by letting loose his letter, like a lion to hunt its readers and forced them to read. Whatever platform he wishes to post his letter, mark you, that's, as the aide to NEW MEDIA to Mr. President, it’s part of your job to ensure such letters are printed and tabled to the president for review. Kwankwaso as a public figure whose people expect much from him, I think, he has done the little and most effective contribution to what is happening in Kano which he has kept quiet for a while to let the Kano state government behave like a responsible government. Though, in regards to that poor condition of Kano, we are expecting philanthropic gesture from Kwankwaso to the masses like BUA and Ɗangote, by appreciation, has done their parts.
Kindly note this sir, I thought by now, with the bunch numbers of writing on “new media” platforms on the strange death and the absence of active COVID-19 testing center in a state like Kano for some days, you would have rushed out of your comfort zone to Kano and gather dependable information with your intellectuality and exuberance to ensure letting our dear president know of how we are mourning our beloved parents. Not only that, you should have secretly let him know that the people of Kano and Nigerians are deadly and angrily hungry. If I were you, I will not consider this talk as partisan drama. I will swiftly rush to the president, with sincere appreciation of Kwankwaso's contribution and urge the president for urgent review on points given. I think, that will make you atone for the words you uttered on Twitter.
Honourable Bashir Ahmad, know that “I am your fan,” like we do to Messi, such is my support for you because I am not looking at your as an aide only, but a future paddle that will help this canoe (Nigeria) floating on the ocean of problems to one day cross to the shore of its success. We (youth) look at you and Sha'aban Sharaɗa as role models that Allah has given opportunity to be part of a governmental crew to learn and one day contribute to a better Nigeria. It will be to early to disappoint us! I respectfully advise you to watch your mouth next time before replying to such open letters as an intellectual figure.
Thank you for reading.
Yours faithfully,
