RAPE: IS IT BECAUSE OF INDECENCY IN DRESSING OR IS A SELF-CENTRED CHEAP WAY TO DRIVE PLEASURE?
I have seen how mistful torrents of pitiful posts and publications over the piteous raping cases that have filled the heaven hanging on newspapers, Facebook, and other social media platforms have been trending. I want to join hands in condemning this repulsive attitude.
I have also read a myriad of views ranging from the female and male adults who have disappointingly condemned such acts. I was appalled by those who argue, mostly, from the female counterparts that indecent dressing by our young ladies which is accompanied with coquettish attitude is not a reason for why raping is becoming wild devouring the virginity of many innocent girls and babies. I won't say, with no pretentious male condescending and belittling reproach to the feminine gender that, despite being very innocent, their mode of dressing has been a strong wind that fans the men's (rapists) randiness.
It is flimsy and characterless, even from atheistic or any form of a sense of reasoning, to think that nudity has never been a provocative cause of rape in our society. Libido is an instinctive urge of more or less being uncontrollable if it does not meet piety and good upbringing has. That's why God has ordained upon women, Islamically, to cover their body and even separate among our children, by the age of seven at maximum, between male and female and make them understand the religious and cultural limits.
Customizing and compromising our Hausa culture has made ladies (or women) these days and for long to assume that being educated means half-covering themselves by hanging the veil on their shoulders or around their necks like men wearing a tie while exposing their bulging blossom up and high by all means. Their hips is at greater suffering no less than the haughtiness they exhibit to prove their femininity; presupposing, whether consciously or otherwise, that the way our grandparents do dress by rolling themselves up in an "oversized" Hijab or veil (mayafi) is old fashioned and they, educated ones, should show the difference in time and education they have acquired from the white man that is still advocating for same-sake marriage shamelessly. If a lady thinks that her half-naked body has nothing to do with her being raped, they should please desist and trash that misconception and haughtiness lest they shall be attacked by the highest man in rank in piety anywhere. That very senseless notion of "indecency is not a problem," by the aftermath, that's what has been affecting many other young girls or babies and even animals (God forbids).
As I mentioned the aftermath of careless dressing is one of the reasons for raping, not the sole reason for rape.
Subsequently, the aftermath I mean here is not in any way justifying the rapist's attitude, but by the example of indecency being one of the reasons, let's consider this fact; we all know men and even women and their level of drive (sha'awa) chemically, biologically and psychologically is differently triggered because for some men, seeing a hip or chest or hearing a voice or lock of hair, the gait of a woman (girl or mesmerized some by beautiful babies by extension) move them crazy while for some men, even if the cleavage or the entire chest will be wide open will not move them to go frenzy.
To be honest, most of the people chasing girls in the lupanar (brothel), and on the streets and house entrance (soraye) are doing so for the satisfaction of that drive which becomes wild due to constant look or watching of pornographic clips which later will push them to whatever means indiscriminately availably and ease to reach kill it.
By that fact, let's say why raping the babies and young girls, old women, or even one's daughter? My answer would be, such people are cowardly satanic that they only go for what is available at their reach and that brought about embracing whosoever, girl, woman, lady, old aged woman or pathetically babies available. It is not that they don't want a well-built and fully matured woman as many may presume, but by simple psychological analysis of human taste and animalistic tendencies and even from a religious perspective, once a person eats or tastes from the forbidden tree, he tends to morally be drawn into an ocean of confoundment. With such reasoning, even married men have fallen into this trap of raping children because it was a "forbidden fruit" that they tend to enjoy the most. These trees, bearing forbidden fruits are almost everywhere in our lives. Like the smokers or drug addicts, you begin to wonder why must the pleasure they madly drive come from drugs and weeds? Or a fornicator who despite having wive(s) has to still lure other women to sleep with? Or even governmentally, why do Nigerian leaders who have stolen or earned more than what they could chop for more than the number of years of their children's lives still have to still even from COVID-19 funds? Because the money disbursed is more than enough to build hospitals of international standards and none had been built to my knowledge!
It's undeniable that like hunger, naturally by creation, we must satisfy this lust no less than accepting the fact that moral laxity is already eating deeper the quality of our social upbringing system where people lack self-control, honesty, and respect for elders and even to parents. Not, only that, lack of knowledge, Islamic and not to mention western-Boko literacy which has ceased to morally train our children because of parents pampering which has made our children religiously and culturally, psychologically maimed, absence of intimacy and share of experience between parents and their children has given license to influential friends to take over their friends' decisions and to define their actions, poverty and unnecessary inventions to intense overambitious parents over their daughters have made marriage to most men like watching someone eating barbecue (tsire) from afar while the rich keep on adding more and more wives, giving birth to plump children that might end up being the target and victims of raping or usually used by their peers in clubs in the name of relaxation have worsened and endangered our social existence.
Therefore, rapists, to me, are cowards who snatch what is available before them to improvise, whether big or small and new or old without any discrimination. What matters is satisfying their desire. Damned!
Finally, please, understand me. I am not justifying the rapists' attitude by hold solely indecency as a dependable reason that should make them rape any girl, but trying to make us understand that it's one of the reasons that triggers men's libido. At least, let's know that no matter how we make our girls cover themselves, society has to make marriage affordable to cater to that drive and pay attention to improving our moral standards. Youth (boys and girls) should also strive hard to seek knowledge and embrace any legal means of self-sustainance which will help in eradicating or decreasing the poverty level in our society.
